Tracy Cox

Mezzo-soprano Tracy Cox, age 24, earned both her B.A. and her M.M. in Voice Performance from UCLA on full scholarship from the Gluck Foundation. She has appeared in over eleven Opera UCLA productions, including Francesco Cavalli's Giasone as Medea, Jonathan Dove's Flight as the Older Woman, Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream as Hermia, and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel as Nettie Fowler. In December of 2009, Tracy competed in her second vocal competition, winning 1st place in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition. She spent the summer of 2008 as a member of the Wolf Trap Opera Studio, and sang Lucretia in Britten's "The Rape of Lucretia" in the WTOS scenes program. Tracy has performed up and down the West coast as Alto soloist in Handel's Messiah, most recently at the Fox Theater in Spokane, Washington. She is a student of Vladimir Chernov. |
