CONDITIONS

1. All applicants should be between the ages of 20-30 as of August 5, 2008. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.

2. Applications for auditions should be mailed to the Los Angeles Opera along with a $25.00 non-refundable application fee. MONEY ORDERS or PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Money orders or checks should be made payable to the "Los Angeles Opera". It is strongly recommended that applicants keep a photocopy of the completed application for personal reference; material will not be returned.

3. INCOMPLETE OR LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

4. All applications will be screened by The Domingo-Thornton Young Artists Program judging committee. Applicants will be notified by LA Opera as to whether or not they have been accepted to audition approximately three weeks after the deadline date. All applications are considered confidential.

5. Application materials will not be returned. Judge's forms and comments are the sole property of LA Opera and may not be made available to applicants.

6. By applying, applicants agree to abide by these conditions and must agree not to make any claim against Los Angeles Opera Association or any other party to these auditions by reason of anything that may be done in connection with the audition. The decision of the judges is final.

7. Los Angeles Opera expects that entrance into these auditions indicates availability for the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program.

8. If invited to participate in the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program, applicants must agree to make themselves available for the duration of that program. Applicants must understand that requests to perform elsewhere during the contract term are not encouraged. However, if the participant should receive such an invitation, formal requests for leave must be made in writing. The participant must ask that Los Angeles Opera be given credit on the program for the courtesy of releasing the participant.
